Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) FY 2010-2013

In compliance with federal regulations 23 CFR 450, the Mississippi Gulf Coast (MPO) is seeking the public’s input on the amended FY 2010-2013 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP). This document includes all projects to be funded using the Gulf Coasts’ allocation of Surface Transportation Program (STP) funds, which are allocated by the Federal Highway Administration through the Mississippi Department of Transportation. The projects are based on local short term priorities set by the jurisdictions within the urbanized areas of Hancock, Harrison, and Jackson Counties.  The revisions are necessary to ensure fiscal restraint with the loss of federal funding in September 2009.

Also listed in this document is Coast Transit Authority’s Program of Projects that are funded by the Federal Transit Administration. No changes have been made to the transit section.  The public comment period will satisfy the public participation requirements for the FTA Section 5307 and 5309 POP notice. The proposed CTA Program of Projects will be final unless revised as a result of public comment.

The amended FY 2010-2013 TIP is available for review the local libraries and Gulf Regional Planning Commission, 1232 Pass Rd, Gulfport, MS 39501.  Public comments are encouraged and will be accepted until March 28, 2010.  Comments may be submitted to Gulf Regional Planning Commission 1232 Pass Rd, Gulfport, MS 39501 or via email at mcrystal@grpc.com
