Gulf Regional Planning Commission will, as new information becomes available, update this page as a local resource for Census Bureau planning information and local participation activities as the 2020 full census update get’s nearer.
The 2017 BAS deadline is MAY 31st.
The Boundary & Annexation Survey (BAS) began in December 2016, and is the last opportunity to ensure that your jurisdiction’s boundaries are correct before LUCA begins. To ensure accurate boundaries are utilized on the LUCA materials, all boundary updates must be returned to the Census Bureau by May 31, 2017.
For more information, visit the BAS Website.
Census 2020 LUCA planning meetings are scheduled.
LUCA stands for the Local Update of Census Addresses. The LUCA process kicking off in 2017, is the only opportunity offered to tribal, state, and local governments to review and comment on the U.S. Census Bureau’s residential address list prior to the 2020 Census. To help you in the process of checking and updating the addresses in your community, the Census Bureaus is hosting FREE promotional workshops that will define the purpose and process for updating your information.
The MS Gulf Coast meeting is scheduled for May 22nd, 2017 at 9:00am in the Gulf Regional Planning Commission conference room.
